Bring your bookmarks with you

Import bookmarks from Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Raindrop, Pocket or Instapaper, and notes from an Obsidian vault.

You probably have years of bookmarks somewhere else. NestMarks imports them with their folders and tags, skips the ones you have already saved, and lets you take everything back out whenever you like.

Open Import & export

  1. Find the page

In the web app, open Settings, then Import & export under Data. You can also press ⌘ K (Ctrl K on Windows) and type “import”.

Import a bookmarks file

Every browser and most bookmark apps can export a file. The page shows the exact export steps for each source when you pick its tab.

  1. Export from your old app

Pick your source under Import a bookmarks file: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Raindrop, Pocket or Instapaper, and follow the steps shown. For Raindrop, use Export as CSV from its Backups settings; for Instapaper, its Download .CSV file export. Pocket closed in 2025, so use the CSV you exported from it.

  2. Choose the file and check the preview

Press Choose HTML or CSV file and pick the export. Before anything is saved, NestMarks shows how many bookmarks it found, how many are new, how many you already have (these are skipped), and the folders and tags it will create.

  3. Import

Press Import N bookmarks. Your folders come across as folders and tags as tags. Unread items from Pocket and Instapaper go to your Read later queue.

Import notes from Obsidian or Notion

  1. Choose your vault folder

Further down the same page is the notes importer. Press Choose your vault folder and pick your Obsidian vault, or Choose .md files or a .zip for a Notion export or any folder of Markdown files. You can also drag the files onto the page.

Check the preview and press Import N notes.
